3D Millennium's Link Partner Program

You don't need permission to link to our site or anyone else's, for that matter - And if you link to us, and your site is about a similar topic, we'll link back. So why do we go to the bother of having a Link Partner program and what's it all about?

Read on and we'll try to explain.

3D Millennium Link Partners:

* Are always placed at the top of their page.

* May, at their option, place a banner graphic with their link.

* May choose up to two additional categories under which to be listed for a total of three.

Plus all Link Partners receive periodic gifts and special privileges as our way of saying thanks for partnering with us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I become a Link Partner?

A: We have attempted to make becoming a Link Partner as simple as possible. All you need to do is select one of the links provided on our link code page, copy it and paste it into your page code where ever you'd like it to appear. That's it!

(The link must be navigable from your home page within 2 mouse clicks. You wouldn't believe how many people put links on pages not even connected to their site, or so hard to find it may as well not exist at all)!

Q: Do I have to use your graphic on my page?

A: No. We provide a simple 'text only' link for those who do not wish to use a graphic link on their page. You may still post a graphic with your link on 3D Millennium.

Q: Can I just make up my own link to your site?

A: Of course you can. It IS your web page, after all. To maintain Link Partner status, however, you must use the link as it is worded from our link code page. We appreciate any link that leads people to our site, just as you do.

Q: It doesn't fit right on my page, can I modify the format?

A: Yes, you can. As the link is formatted when you copy it from our page it will center in the place you put it. If you don't want it to center, simply remove the tags near the beginning and end of the code snippet that control centering. If you're not very familiar with this, they look like this:

<center> - this is near the beginning.
</center> - this is near the end.

Once those tags are deleted the link will flow with whatever format prevails on your page at that point. Usually, this will mean that it will left justify, but that depends on your page.

Also, if you have chosen a graphic link, you may wish to have the graphic on the same line with the text. You can achieve this by removing the line break tag from the link.

The line break tag looks like this: <br>

Q: Why is this so important to you guys?

A: Well, frankly, some of it has to do with the search engines. Their spiders crawl around the web and read the links that sites have between each other. The spiders can't see pictures so they rely on the text to determine what the page being linked to is about. If the text isn't right they list the page incorrectly. If there's no text at all, it pays no attention to it.

It's about PEOPLE, too. If someone sees a graphic or banner with a site name on it and no text attached they're going to do one of two things:

1. Ignore it.

If they ignore it, they may well miss out on something that they were very interested in.

2. Click on it to go to the site.

If they click on it and it's something they have no interest in, they've just wasted their time. They may find that quite annoying - and you, too!

So a short and accurate explanation of what a link is all about is the very least we can provide for our visitors. That's why we feel it's so important. After all, we go through all of this effort so that people, who have an interest in what we offer and do, will visit our web sites, don't we?

So why make it hard for them to do it?

Along that train of thought, we need to add that the link must be in an area of your site that is easily visible and navigable from your front page (index). If your links are hidden, or, as we've seen, not even linked to your home page in any way, they benefit no one. If you don't understand how links benefit you, we don't understand why you're reading this.

Q: How big can my banner be?

A: Size is limited to 280x70 and 25KB maximum.

Q: Can I use an animated .GIF? or Flash? or .JPG?

A: As long as it doesn't exceed the max. size limits, sure.

Q: Where do I send my graphic file?

A: Nowhere. Just send us the link to your graphic on your server. It will stay there under your control so if you should need to change it for any reason, it will instantly update without having to rely on anyone else. Just use our Add a Link page to send us your graphic URL.
